About

Bolo Publishing

Bolo Publishing was founded in 2013 by Admir Jahic and Comenius Roethlisberger as an independent publishing company. Initially, we brought out our own catalogs; hower, in 2014 the idea matured to publish a yearbook. This gave rise to our “Artists’ Recipes” publication – it was first presented at Art Basel 2015. It combines cooking with art and is now available in a third edition. International artists from Marina Abramović via Olafur Eliasson and Anish Kapoor through to Erwin Wurm to name just a few present their favorite recipes complemented by drawings, collages and photographs.

“Artists’ Recipes” is available in bookstores and museum stores such as Fondation Beyeler, Museum of Contemporary Art Los Angeles, Museum Tinguely Basel, The Royal Academy of Arts London, Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, Stedelijk Museum, as well as in the book store Walther König/Museum Ludwig Cologne and from 2021 in the MoMA Store. Bound, 352 pages, ISBN 978-3-906237-04-6.

Christie’s lists “Artists’ Recipes” amongst “The best art books of 2015” and writes of it: “The book breaks with all the rules of the commercial art world—there’s no agenda or politics—it was created by one artist contacting another artist they know and respect. It’s a beautifully produced book—the cover, in blue, lists all the names of the contributing artists.”
